Jennifer Murray

I have always done some kind of playing, starting with playing the piano by ear from 

about age 5. 

 

I then went on to take band class at school, learning the flute with my sister's hand-me-down flute in the sixth grade, then deciding

I wanted to learn an instrument of my choice

and teaching myself to play a rented oboe

from my school, and going on to play mostly 

oboe from then on through my high school 

years. 

 

Fast-forward to June 1998,  following after 

an inspiration by a beloved artist who had 

tragically passed away nine months earlier

in a Jeep accident, I started playing the 

hammered dulcimer, picking it up quickly

within several months. 

 

During that time I also started playing the Irish whistle on my own.

 

I also have enjoyed writing, both short stories and songs, since my youth.
